Instead of using a vehicle for these races, walk! If you have the Light Jak power of time-freezing, it also freezes the time portals. Haven City or in the Spargus city, you get to do races for rare precursor orbs. To eliminate the damage incurred from falling a long distance, simply kick in mid-air right before you touch the ground. Jak 3 has a lot of different ideas, but few are really developed enough to add significantly to the experience.At The Ending Credits Where You Can See The Game Characters You Can Press Left Or Right To Switch The Character And The Left Analog Stick Up And Down For Zooming In And Out And The Right Analog Stick Left And Right For Rotating The Characters And L1 To Move The Character Down And R2 To Move The Character Up Just Like The Secret Option Model Viewer. Not even Jak's long- and high-jumps are called for very much. In short, you need one gun, maybe three powers, and occasionally the hoverboard. Even the hoverboard returns, though it's as slow and relatively unexciting as before. Healing comes in handy, but beyond that only flight is useful, and that's introduced in the final hours. Jak 3 also introduces "Light Jak" abilities. The Dark powers are equally optional there's one you need to a use a few times near the end, but that's about it. There are now three variations of each of the four guns, but one of the first guns is so powerful that there's almost no need to use the others. The morphing guns and "Dark Jak" powers are back, but not without some changes.
What's This For, Again? As the third and last game of the series, Jak 3 brings with it a lot of gameplay baggage. There'll probably be a few grizzled old Jak II vets who grumble about the modest decline in challenge, but there's no denying that Jak 3 is a better-balanced game.
Happily, Jak 3 has a much smoother difficulty curve which does a pretty good job of avoiding those dreaded "spikes." In fact, the game as a whole is much more forgiving, with many more mid-mission respawn points, an ever-increasing life meter, and few of those near-instant kills that made Jak II's city missions so frustrating. Speaking of aggravating cities, another sticking point of Jak II was its off-and-on difficulty - it's the only game where one of my co-workers has ever asked me to get them past a section. In any case, they're not nearly as troublesome as they were before. The story begins with Jaks banishment to the Wasteland, a desert environment five times the size of Haven City, with multiple areas, including mines and a volcano.

Or maybe the cities are just a silly idea inspired by GTA3 and now the series is stuck with them. Jak 3 combines elements from a variety of genres, including driving, adventure, action, puzzle, strategy, and exploration. Perhaps Naughty Dog is making an artistic statement about life in the wasteland being cheap.

You can feel free to kill as many citizens as you like, as they often drop power-ups and ammo. Hundreds of generic NPCs still roam both, but with Jak II's Krimson Guard missing in action, they now have even less of an effect on the game.

While Jak 3 actually has two cities, Spartus is very simple in layout, while Haven, thanks to the ongoing war, has been decreased in size and somewhat streamlined.
